Signing in to the browser extension

“ThouShaltNotClick is signed out” on your email

That line means the extension in this browser isn't signed in yet, so it isn't checking your email. It appears on each email you open until you sign in. It doesn't say anything about the email itself. If your school's mail also carries a ThouShaltNotClick banner inside the message, that banner still shows.

To sign in

1. Click Sign in on that line (or click the ThouShaltNotClick icon in your browser's toolbar).
2. The ThouShaltNotClick sign-in page opens in a new tab. Sign in the way you usually do: Google, Microsoft, or your email and password, plus your code if you use two-step sign-in.
3. That's it. The website and the extension sign in together, the sign-in tab closes, and your email shows its ThouShaltNotClick check without reloading.

The marks on the toolbar icon

• OFF (gray) — the extension is signed out. It goes away when you sign in.
• ! (red) — your sign-in ended, for example after a password change. Sign in again the same way.
• ✓ (green) — you just signed in.

One sign-in for both

• Signing in on the website signs in the extension in the same browser, and the other way around.
• Signing out of either one signs out both when they're signed in to the same account.
• If the website and the extension are signed in to different accounts, each keeps its own until you sign out of one.

Still signed out?

1. Sign in in the same browser, and the same browser profile, that the extension is installed in.
2. On a school or work network, the web filter needs to allow thoushaltnotclick.com — see help on a school or work network.
3. Click the ThouShaltNotClick icon in your toolbar and open Sign-in sync details at the bottom. It lists the last sign-in events in this browser; share it with your IT team or with us.
