How SMS-based two-factor authentication works at ThouShaltNotClick
We send SMS messages for one reason: to deliver one-time verification codes when you log in or access sensitive features. We never send marketing, promotional, or bulk messages. You opt in voluntarily from your account security page, and you can opt out anytime by replying STOP.
If you enable SMS-based two-factor authentication, we send you a 6-digit verification code in the following situations:
Each message is triggered by an explicit action you take. We never send unprompted texts, marketing messages, or bulk announcements.
That's it โ SMS verification is now active on your account. You'll see it listed alongside any other verification methods (such as authenticator app) you've set up.
You can stop receiving SMS verification codes at any time:
When you opt out, your phone number is removed from our system. To re-subscribe later, reply START, UNSTOP, or YES โ or enroll again from your security settings.
Important: if your organization requires two-factor authentication for password manager access, opting out of SMS will only work if you have an authenticator app set up as well. We will never leave you with no verification method when one is required by your organization.
Reply HELP to any message and we'll send you instructions. You can also email us at support@thoushaltnotclick.com.
